What to expect in the Emergency Department
We care for urgent, life-threatening illness and injuries in the Emergency Department. We know that coming to an emergency department for you or a family member can be stressful. Please read this overview of what to expect.
If you are experiencing urgent, but non-life threatening illness or injuries, please consider visiting an urgent care centre , a walk-in clinic, or the virtual emergency department for non-urgent treatment of minor illness or injury.
In case of emergency, call 911
Please note: Patients arriving by ambulance are triaged, and not necessarily seen faster than other patients.
