We are an independent member owned association, established in 1967 and incorporated in 2005, whose goal is to promote the interests of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s more than 650 volunteers.
Every registered adult volunteer is automatically a full voting member of the Association and is welcome to participate in its activities and cast their vote at the Association's annual general meeting.
To work collaboratively with Volunteer Resources and the hospital’s staff to enhance service to patients, residents, their families and visitors, to raise money to support hospital projects directed towards patient care and comfort, and to provide a vehicle for collaboration and communication amongst our members.
- Publication of our newsletter, The Sunnybrook Volunteer, and other communications activities.
- Development and Recognition of our members through social events, awards programs and participation on our board and board committees.
- Providing links for our members to the hospital, other volunteer organizations and the community for networking and educational opportunities
- Raising funds to support hospital projects through a number of fundraising operations including our gift shop.
