The Association operates the Gift Shop located on M1 near the main entrance to the hospital. The Gift Shop has a professional manager and assistant manager and is staffed by volunteers. The shop sells a variety of items including stationary items, giftware, baby clothes, flower arrangements, toys, CDs, lingerie, toiletries and confectionary items. There are fresh flowers and plants available daily. Hours of operation are: Monday to Thursday 9:30 am to 8:00 pm, Friday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
Active volunteers are eligible for a 10% discount by showing their Sunnybrook ID badge. The Gift Shop is a major contributor to the Association’s fundraising efforts, accounting for almost 75% of money raised.

The SVA has developed a collection of greeting cards that are sold to raise money to support the hospital. These include the Heritage Homes Series featuring watercolours of the McLean and Vaughan Estates on the Sunnybrook campus, and a number of Seasonal Cards featuring the work of local artists that are sold during the year end holidays.

| Volunteers at Green Thumbs operate a greenhouse adjacent to McLean House on the Sunnybrook campus. They grow seedlings and cuttings and also obtain bulbs and plants from flower markets, some of which are donated. These plants, cuttings and flowers are sold to staff and patients during Green Thumbs’ plant sales on Wednesday from October to June in E, L and T Wings. |

The beauty salon, called Intensive Hair, provides hair care services to patients, residents, families, staff, volunteers, and members of the public. A variety of services, including shampoo, cut, perm and colour, are provided by two professional hairdressers who are supported by volunteers. The Salon is located in EG-18 across from McLaughlin Hall and is open Tuesday to Friday 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Call: 416.480.4133

| The Fine Arts group of volunteers showcase paintings by scommunity art groups and local artists in the first floor hallways from the B to E wings. The art is sold to patients, visitors, families, staff and residents with a commission going to the Association. The Fine Arts group is also responsible for the decorative ceiling tiles displayed in patient treatment areas. These are sponsored by donations of $100 each. |

| Volunteers hold a book sale in the D1 Breezeway once a month selling books and magazines donated by patients, staff and magazine companies. A book cart is also positioned outside E1-03 and is replenished each week. |

A group of volunteers called The Late Bloomers meet every Monday to create beautiful flower arrangements for sale in the gift shop. There is also a group of volunteers who work out of their homes making crafts such as hand knitted baby clothing, children’s dresses and scarves for chemotherapy patients that are sold in the gift shop.

| Volunteers sell coffee, tea and cookies in the outpatient areas throughout the hospital to waiting patients and families with proceeds going to the Volunteer Association. |

| The Volunteer Association manages a vendor program which allows outside vendors to sell their products on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the D1 Breezeway and in the Odette Cancer Centre on Thursdays. Each vendor pays the Association a rental fee for the space. Vendors sell a variety of items including jewellery, clothing, linens and giftware. |
